Saying Goodbye Yet Again :(

Well this was the sad day of departure for Florian. After leaving each other in Berlin (me going to Poland), almost in Slovenia (before I hitched), Berlin again (I wasn't going to Lithuania), once again Berlin (Oktoberfest), and AGAIN in Berlin ( after the trip to the Embassy hell) this was not a new feeling. It wasn't a nice one, but it didn't even really register until later that night. My parents and I left the train station and they kept asking if I was okay. I was still processing though! Acted like I was okay, but I was not in the mood for tons of sightseeing.

We ate, then went on a "hop on hop off" tour bus. That was nice because I didn't have to talk much. It went up to this hill that Floh said would be nice to go to, and he was right it was quite nice!! We sat at a cafe and I drank a milkshake for comfort food. We went back to the city and I went for a walk with my mom while dad lay down. Eventually we went back to the hotel to rest before our last dinner in Florence.

We went back to that yummy steak place since it was sooo good. Unfortunately just the three of us showing up there when last time it was four sped up some of the processing time, and I was starting to get mopey. I think I hid it okay though. Hope so. We had to drive to Venice tomorrow, then I was going to take an overnight train to Croatia then an 8-9 hour bus to Bosnia. I had a lot of traveling ahead of me, so I had to try to rest.

Florence with Floh

we got up early to get into Florence at a decent time. We had a bit of a walk to get from the parking area to the hotel, but the hotel itself was right in the city center! It was awesome! Again very nice room - my parent's know how to pick 'em.

There was a fortress thing on it where you could walk up to the top to have a huge view of Florence and drink a glass of wine, which was beautiful :)










I was able to take photos on the walk to the hotel, and afterward while walking around the city with Floh :D


























apparently I am out of pictures for this city for some reason... I think it's because Floh was leaving the next day, so I was distracted. We went for this incredible steak dinner with my family, then Massimo came to Florence and met us there.




We went for fancy ice cream and a little walking tour (we followed a beer bottle Massimo held for us) ending at a bar.

It was supposed to be playing Balkan music... I guess it was sorta Balkan. There was a kid dancing around so it made it kinda feel like it! We sat on an upper level full of books (it was also a bookstore) and drank wine, beer, stacked the wine and beer glasses into a tower in the middle of the table... had a good time!











Eventually my parents found out what time it was so we I went back to the hotel.
Floh and stayed up on the roof of the fortress thing though, since it was his last night there... very nice view at night :)
