Cyprus, Greek Side, Take Two:

Well I woke up and had some breakfast, but it was tricky after the wine. I wasn't feeling too bad though - I was still able to function! I thought it would be a good day for FOX to have a bath! I woke up and all my clothes had fallen off the balcony railing from wind. Luckily they blew inwards onto the balcony. I was pretty sure everything was there. Now that the clothes were cleanish, it was time to get FOX clean:

He looked so different all wet!

I took fox outside to dry him off in the 30 degree heat :) While I was waiting for Jon to get ready I had made some sunglasses and shorts for him so he fit in poolside. He was stylin!

I spent a fair bit of my day like this:

joncyprus020

Sorry this is blurry, I don't know why. This is what I was looking at! There were multiple pools with the ocean at the end, plus some waterfall type things and a swim up bar. I would swim when I overheated then lay down and read some more:

After the reading and swimming, we got curious about what the other beach looked like. We hopped over and checked it out. The colour of the water was unbelievable!

joncyprus023

There was the beach, then shallow water leading up to a little island thing. If the tide was down, there would be a path in the sand to walk to the island. Otherwise, it will be shallow water, like you can stand everywhere. The water was so warm, it felt like I was in the tropics. Jon said that it reminded him of the Caribbean.

joncyprus024

You can see where the water is shallow all the way to the beach. I am standing on the island thing here!

joncyprus025

Jon had an underwater camera, so all the pictures of this particular beach are from his camera, since he could swim with it. I was splashing around like a kid, and he got some photos of me underwater which I thought were pretty cool :

It was fantastic to be swimming around in October! Eventually it was time to lay down again, so we returned to find FOX in deep contemplation about his bath. I guess he had made friends with the dirt so it was a bit odd for him to be clean.

joncyprus032

I returned to my bake/swim/bake/swim routine while Jon went back to his drink/smoke/drink/smoke routine. There was a swim up bar, so when I swam I joined him at the bar for a bit but didn't drink anything. I wanted only water so I wouldn't get dehydrated or swell:

Here is FOX and me, happy in our lounge chair relaxing!

joncyprus034

That evening we had dinner outdoors (it was warm enough to eat outside). Jon was happy since there were still smoking sections in the outdoor restaurant. After the food, being in the sun caught up with me and I think I went to bed. The days kind of melded together here, so I am not sure if I went swimming again or not...

The next day we decided to go see the "town" after breakfast. There was a bus, but it wasn't that far away so I convinced Jon to walk there instead. The cars drive on the left side so that was messing with me crossing the street! I checked a bunch of tourist stores on the way (there was no shortage of them)for my backpack patch, but none had them. It didn't really seem like a backpacker type of area... only hotels from what I could see - not even hostels!

The town was more like a street with some restaurants. Most of them were overpriced. We walked down until we hit a Mexican restaurant and Jon wanted to see if they had good tequila. They had something he knew which was better than what he had been finding, so he had some. I went outside and pretended to ride the bull statue (recalling when I did this in Istanbul)

cyprus043

The inside of this restaurant looked so silly, it was ridiculous. We walked back and I chose the least expensive place (pasta for 5 euro) so we had a beer and lunch. It was actually a lot of pasta for the price! After that we went walking back, but decided to go along the beach instead of the boring restaurant street. It was much nicer. I even saw an epic sand castle!

cyprus044

It had been kinda cloudy all day (although still insanely warm) so it was making the water look cool:

cyprus045

By the time I got back it was starting to get a bit darker. It wasn't quite time for dinner since we had just eaten, so we went hunting for ping pong. It was occupied. I was sad, so we went and got a beer from the store to help prepare for ping pong (it's more fun when beer is involved). The staff were nice enough to let us drink the beer near the bar outside, where we watched a wedding procession take photos. I thought about Jessica and her wedding in Cuba. When we went back to play, it was closed! After wandering the hotel, we went to a piano lounge for a couple glasses of wine. That turned into a few glasses, then I was hungry. We made it just in time for the dinner there though! I was pretty tipsy after combining the beer and wine, so somehow I ended up swimming around at 1am in the ocean. I found some kid's buckets for sandcastles and attempted to start making sand castles. Turns out I'm still pretty good! I fell asleep watching Law and Order (which I am downloading more of right now).

Cyprus, Greek Side, Take One:

I woke up in time to get a few shots of the apartment I was staying in. Alexia's is so nice!

athens022

The view was also very pretty! Seemed a bit of a shame to be leaving now that the weather was improving here...

athens023

... but I did. I arrived at Jon and Josh's hotel right on time since there was no more bus strike :p They told me that they were actually unable to book flights for today since Jon's credit card was having problems. They were looking at just going to the airport and trying standby. The tickets had raised in price and Josh was freaking about that. He was saying that actually he would try to change the date of his flight to Amsterdam and just stay in a hostel there until he had to go home to Vancouver. I didn't want him to stay behind!

We all had to go to the airport regardless though, so off we went. Jon bought last minute tickets for the both of us (he convinced me by saying I only should have to pay him what the price was from last night) and Josh tried to talk to people about changing his flight. I tried to convince him that he should come too, but he said it was just too expensive. He had to wait till 2pm to talk to someone about changing the flight time, and Jon and my flight was at one so we had to run!

I have never been so late for a flight. We got on the place around 12:45 or something, it was soooo close. Next thing I knew I was in Cyprus! I didn't even know it was it's own country until they stamped me out in Greece.

Jon travels a LOT differently than I. I wanted to look for bus schedules, he wanted to look for taxi's. He said we can stay in a hotel the first night his treat, then we can go online and look for something more affordable (my idea). So we hopped in the taxi and ended up in Agia Napa at some place called Adam's Beach Hotel. I hadn't been in a hotel since last year with my parents. It was nice, but they wanted to charge for laundry so I started putting shampoo in the bathtub and washing my clothes...

This is the view from the room!

cyprus000

cyprus001

So I put the laundry up on the balcony to dry since it was so warm. It was 30 degrees at least! I was so happy with the weather :D

joncyprus000

The hotel had a bunch of pools, but also it's own beach cove thing. It was quite pretty, and it was still warm enough to go check out the water:

cyprus005

For some reason my toe started itching like nuts. It wasn't bleeding or anything, so I don't know why. Maybe it was the pina colada... I made a face:

joncyprus001

Jon posed too

cyprus007

I was able to go into the water at night it was so hot! I was trying to wrap my head around the fact that it was mid-late October and I was swimming in the ocean! The water was clean looking too, which was a plus.

joncyprus002

Jon tried to get one of me with the full moon in the background, although it is blurry. You get the idea though...

joncyprus003

After that I went to take the LED hula out for a spin. TONS of photos were taken, so it's impossible to post them all on here.... I'll just post four and if you like these types then you should click on one and it will take you to the album where you can look at all the photos. I should be organizing them into a hula hoop/night shot album as well to see the past ones too :)

joncyprus007

joncyprus008

cyprus026

cyprus014

I was pretty stoked about using the hoop, but I got hungry so we went to eat something. I was pretty pleased with my day of warmth and swimming and hooping, and I think you can tell:

joncyprus017

After this we had some wine, but after wine and traveling I got sleepy and fell asleep on the corner of the bed. I was way to the side so I didn't give my buddy the wrong impression. That is of course after I rolled around on the stuffed animals (he won those while bored with Josh on their cruise) hahahahaha:

cyprus035

Then it was Law and Order then sleeeeep.
