I guess I left off on Saturday afternoon then... I was determined to catch some sunshine before it got dark like it did the day before, so I hopped out pretty quick after typing away - as I was about to leave I ran into a staffer Kellen, whom had biked critical mass the day before and was feelin' it. She was my last person to massage out of all the staff (I had massaged EJ the day before)!!! We "booked" for when I got back, then Shaun and I took off....
We were going to check out a little mini redwood forest thing, but it was closed. Ended up going over to the piers and checking out some rad sculptures around Embarcadero... I didn't take any photos, but here are some from Flickr...

There were quite a few good ones. I am going to try and post photos of stuff I see when I don't take photos of it myself (mindful of copyrights though of course) to keep things spicy. My last post had no pictures and I plan on fixing that...!
Ok, so after adventuring around for the day, I came back to give a massage, eat, and then a bunch of us (guests and staff) all went out to karaoke at a place called "the Mint". It was cheesy; but good cheesy. Noelle sang a song from Rent, but the place was packed so not many other hostel people got to sing in time! Most of us wanted grease (since you drink as much as you can at karaoke) so we went to a 24hr diner thing that ended up being very very yummy...
The next day was my last day in San Francisco!
I was wanting to chill after the night before, maybe knit a camera case...
Noelle's friends were having a Superbowl party/gathering and invited me. I have never watched a full football game on TV ever before, much less a whole superbowl, so I was hesitant. I was reassured that practically no-one at the gathering cared at all about the game though. The superbowl is apparently an excuse to hang out all day drinking.
I didn't want to drink, but I saw no reason not to knit with strangers learning a very american sport. The two colours I was using even matched one of the teams!
The game was Arizona vs. Philly... Steelers (Philly) won, but it was last minute and surprisingly exciting for the last bit. They had a trampoline and a kid's hula (they really ARE following me around wtf) so I was outside for a while, plus I finished my knitting. All in all, it was a good way to end my last day. I left around nine when the drunk people were going to Taco Bell (ewwww) are proceeded to watch Noelle's favorite show: "How I Met Your Mother". It has a Canadian character and occasionally will poke fun at Canada because of that :) I find it super funny when people poke fun at us for some reason!!!
So that brings you more or less up to speed. I am currently in Denver, Colorado, waiting to get on my connection flight to Phoenix. I am super happy this airport has wifi! I hopped on a flight today at three-ish from SFO (arrived here 6:20 but in a diff time zone so 520 Californian time), and should be getting on this next flight in about 30-45 minutes, ,arriving in Phoenix @ 11:15 in this time zone. Yay!
I left my book with two eager girls at the hostel :Kellen and Shelli. Kellen recognized the artist whom had drawn the cover as one from Seattle (where she is from) and Shelli had already started the thing and I was told she likes to explore abandoned houses, so it was a purrrrfect :)
I got a book from the hostel in trade called American Gods by Neil Gamon - I've heard the name before somewhere so I thought I'd give it a try. I have a very vague memory of someone talking to me on a bus in Langley in high school and mentioning this book actually, so I am following the signs.
Speaking of following the signs, I went with an airline named Frontier Airlines for this segment of my journey - an aussie from the hostel recommended it - and when the plane pulled up to the dock thing I noticed that they have two BABY FOXES as mascots (they even have names) and have a big picture of the foxes on their dorsal wing thing!!!!!!!! I got a window seat on the plane and there was a small picture of them on the end of the wing too, so I could look out and think "awwww":
How weird is that though, it really made me think I am on the right path....
There were SO MANY instances in San Francisco where I could feel my heart soar with happiness! Sometimes even just walking down the street I would just start smiling like crazy. I am glad that even now at the airport there are things around me to keep myself stoked :)
People are crowding around the thingy, best i get moving!!
