Recap part One

It's hard to summarize what I have been up to (now that I am not so depressed and writing) until now. I have to admit I have been doing a lot of stuff... also days of almost nothing, but lots of days with stuff!

I went to Floh's hometown which I already wrote about, and came back here to find some work. It seems to make sense to write in point-form about stuff I've done lately rather than do my back-posting though. So here are some highlights:
  • We have bought a plant for the house!
  • I watched us WIN AT HOCKEY.
  • Went to a few parties, and a couple "squats" (ok at least one is not a squat anymore but was).
  • I have gone around town putting up pages advertising my massage. It has the little pull-off strips with my name/number/email for people to call. So far more than half of my massages have been through the posters! I spent two days, 4 hours a day walking/taking u-bahn in different parts of the city. I have been putting more up here and there if I see a good spot and I have some with me. I'm trying not to put them up tooo far from Wedding now. I don't want to travel for an hour for an hour massage.
  • Went to a yummy vegan brunch place.
  • Bought a fleece blanket and hand sewed a face cover for the massage table. Also got a couple sheets. People don't use top sheets here though; only bottom elastic sheets and duvet covers! It's almost impossible to find top sheets!
  • Went to an interview about live-out au pairing.
  • Had my first massage! Yes I already wrote about that, but I'll write it again :p
  • My friend Tom came out from Munich and stayed at our fucked up house! I took him bakery dumpster diving (we do this bi-monthly and stock up on all our bread now), and he fixed our bathroom sink. We also went to a museum, which was the first time I'd actually gone inside one here in Berlin. This was technically my first hosting experience in Berlin too.

  • Helped someone clean their flat for moving - turned out to be a cool girl :)
  • Had two more massages! Really liked them!
  • Found out a friend is moving here for three months
  • PUT A NEW FLOOR IN! Yes we got laminate, borrowed a saw, cut the wood, and put in a floor. Now instead of cement and fucked up so-dirty-they're-grey carpets, we have a REAL FLOOR IN THE LIVING ROOM!
Here I must digress. I should explain that the living room is.. coloured... its the End Of The World:

It used to look like a squat  (which is fine but not as comfortable to live in), but now with the floor it looks like an art gallery :D

  • Now that our house looks more arty, this lovely man here asked me help him with his art. He bodypaints and had the urge to pain someone. I said sure!

I edited these for you, but you can see how he put a face in blue fire.
  • I cleaned the bathroom and bought some new stuff for it so it's a little more tolerable.
  • Walked a bathroom cabinet across town on my little dolly thing.
  • Started exchanging massages with a massage therapist down the street named Theresa! We give each other massages on Sudays so every week one of us gives, and one recieves :D
  • I gave some more massages!
  • I created some earring displays out of a canvas, and old broken chair cushion, some padding stuff, and some fabric I bought at a Turkish Market.
  • Cut fabric for making some top sheets/face rest covers, also from turkish market.
  •  Applied at Hotels, but all sent my cv's back to me in the mail. I was sad they didn't even keep them on file :( they sent letters in German with them saying there are no positions, so I should eventually redo my cv in German.
  • Made a ton of earrings, spent two days doing this and watched a lot of Law & Order.
  • Got rejected at three banks. Well, one was not offering a current account so that wasn't really rejecting, but still.
  • Had a fun photo shoot with my massage table around the city! Just recieved photos so I will be hopefully doing a website soon.
  • Performed two massages in one day!
  • Played with my hula hoop for the first time in months. Unfortunately it was on a "stage" so everyone got to see how rusty I was at it... I got some compliments though!

  • I also went on this "stage" to help Paul with his performance. I was on a massage table getting bright blue paint massaged onto me, then pressed up against the wall. Now my back and butt print is on our highly decorated wall!

I should explain this a bit too. We held an "open mic night" at our house, so people could perform in any way they wanted provided it wasn't too long, and they could set up/take down what they did. Floh got his hair cut on stage, there were singers, poetry, my hula hooping, guitar, the body painting, electronic stuff, a Japanese bass player with a homade bass... it was a successful night :)
    • I organized a cs meeting for renting a table at the big flea market. That's what the earrings and displays were for. Lots of people showed interest, but only a few actually showed up. I still made a slight profit, but I was frustrated that almost everyone flaked out and the morning was too cold. On the upside, the people that did show up were cool, and now I have lots of earrings to wear hahaha!
ok I think this post is large enough... I will contiue this tomorrow or later tonight I think!! Time for a lesson!
