Verona

The next day we took the same train but farther into Verona, the place where Romeo and Juliet is set. It was a very romantic city, with padlocks on bridges that couples click on (you will see in my photos).

I have been using some of my parents photos in here which is why it won't be in perfect order, and hopefully I can use some of Floh's Italy pictures for Rapallo, Montecatini, and Firenza. In the meantime here are the million from Verona...

There was a very well preserved Roman amphitheater and normal theater - this was my first time seeing any of either so it was pretty interesting for me. I ate banana split, took a bunch of photos, and had a good time walking around :)

we barely made the bus to the train station to get back, but we squeaked in and got ourselves back to Padova in time to have dinner etc. This city was bigger so there was more walking involved... again it wasn't too much, but enough to make me enjoy lounging in the evening.

In fact, I was enjoying lounging all the time at this point. Seeing my parents really made me aware of how long I had been running around the globe... It does make you tired... I guess I hadn't really been listening to my body until it started breaking down into bladder infections and colds. It was good to feel rested :)
