Ah, after half an hour or so they answered and said yes! I am totally good for weight now. Phew. My arm is sore from holding the phone to my ear so long though. Fortunately they didn't answer when I was on the toilet, or when it was flushing :p That could have been awkward.
This round of packing has been more fun than last time, although more challenging. More choices, and more limits. Since I will be looking for work I want to bring stuff that will be good for handing out resumes etc, but I still want to have fun stuff and travel stuff. Plus it's an all-weather deal again... I am trying to remind myself that I could literally bring an empty suitcase and buy a whole new wardrobe there, but I already have so many clothes... do I really need to bring back a ton more? Especially when I am trying to conserve money.
I was hoping that after a year of limited clothing choices my shopping urges would diminish... but I kept looking at shops the whole time wanting to buy things! It never went away, which makes me wonder if liking lots of clothes is just part of who I am... Or that it's something I need to work on for another year.
Either way this is what I have packed so far. Big things I am planning on wearing on the plane. When I have the final cut I will edit accordingly:

Should you be staying longer in Europe (Germany to be exact), you could cut some of the non-business stuff you'll be carrying.
H&M is a good place to look for affordable clothes (t-shirts etc) and so is New Yorker. Shirts and tank tops can cost as little as EUR 5 which is fairly cheap (even for Bulgaria).
Fruit of the Loom is a bit more expensive but they offer almost unlimited combination of colours.
The same applies for the heavy weather gear -- there are some good local brands that are quite cheap. Icepeak, Salomon (not so cheap though), Adidas (has some stuff).
What IS important is your business wear, since that's quite hard to fit ;)
Also, if you have the chance get some Vibram Five Fingers. I think you will enjoy them.
That said, you shouldn't leave Canada with a set of matching business skirts and shirts ;)
I was merely trying to seduce you to leave some stuff behind and submit your self to the sinister dark arts of shopping ;)
hehehe I should cut out a few things I agree. The dark art of shopping is something I am good at, and I know I will want new stuff if/when I find work :p
thanks for the tips!
