Almost Packed Up

I had my first trial run fitting pretty much everything into the pack today. It didn't fit the first time, but I tried again (different rolling technique) and now there is room to spare in pretty much every pocket!! I am very excited! Here it is packed up (above).

My house packing is coming along slowly, but it will go faster now that I don't have to constantly think about whether or not I should take things with me. I am cutting myself off - if anything I will only bring LESS (except a coat). It's still feeling kinda heavy :s

I am starting to feel on the mend health-wise as well; my nose was not driving me nuts today :)

My next major decision is about the coat. I have a long sleeve shirt and a thin zip hoodie in there so far, but that's not going to be enough. Decisions decisions.

It's also my birthday tomorrow - no idea what I want to do! Probably nothing. I am not feeling prepared enough here to take on anything in Vancouver. Maybe I'll go get a massage.

So much to do!!!!

thanks!!!

thats a long list!

to make things as short as possible, i will list clothes as just clothes

-clothes
-bathing suit and coverup
-travel towel
-mini shower things
-toiletries
-mini first aid in ziploc
-mini sewing kit
-silk sleeping sac (liner for dirty hostels)
-ziplocs
-plug outlet things
-folding solar power recharger (yay!)
-compact umbrella
-utility belt
-notebook
-day purse
-mini acer laptop
-camera
-ipod?

I haven't pulled everything out yet for re inspection so I may be missing some things... but that is probably almost it!! Still having a hard time coming to terms with the small amount of clothes, but I'll get over it.

Wow good choices all round.. Good thinking on the sewing kit, I'd better add that to my list too...

What make is the solar recharger? I'm looking into those at the moment.. does it work well?

I think you'll get used to having fewer clothes quite quickly :)

I haven't had a chance to try the solar panel yet... it's a "motomaster" - saw it at canadian tire :) needs a car plug to work!

Add to your list? Planning on going on a journey too???

Oooh that looks awesome. It'd be neat if you could somehow strap it to the back of your bag..

Yeah, I'm taking off to England in April, and then starting the proper trip in June.

When are you thinking of being in India/SE Asia? I'll be there too...

my travel-blog is http://www.transglobal.me/ :)

You can strap the panel easily to anything, there are holes on all four sides!!

Looked at your site - very fancy!! You guys are pro at this internet business... I added you to my blogroll :)

I honestly don't even know the month I will be in SE Asia or India. I am aiming for Europe in the springtime, then "eastward" whenever I am done with Europe... maybe it will coincide with you guys! That would be exciting!

OMG that's so awesome. I might have to get one of those (it's between that or a much smaller solar thing called a powermonkey - probably doesn't generate anywhere near as much power)!

Hah. Cheers for the compliment.. It's what I do for a living though, so it's really nothing. Thanks for the link :P

I'm anticipating that we'll hit india about october or november. It'd be quite an adventure if we manage to meet up on the way, wherever in the world that may be!

I guess we'll just have to see where you are once we leave :)

I could see us randomly wandering into each other somewhere remote... the universe likes to make itself seem small like that!! :)
