Pillow Fight Day and Thai Massage

Saturday April 4th is International Pillow Fight day.

I participated. I was even in the local school paper! I have kept the tiny article.

Montreal's pillow fight was much smaller than originally expected. I am pretty sure that was because it was raining and cold. Really a miserable day for an outdoor pillow fight.

Still, about 30-40 people showed up. I had no pillow, just a pillow case with some clothes stuffed in it haha. There were plastic bags so I got to put my case in a bag to keep it dry. Stacey came out to watch and take photos.

I fought with my clothes pillow with many strangers; it was fun even in the rain!

now don't worry, I didn't actually hit Stacey in the face with a pillow... it was the angle of the shot! Pretty cool tho eh

this guy was hardcore, he came out in the rain ON CRUTCHES to pillow fight!

after this spectacle, Stacey and I went walking. I was searching out somewhere that would have replacement earrings for the one I broke... I failed, but we ended up looking at a few cool stores. We walked for quite a while again despite the rain, until We were supposed to be heading back to the house to catch a ride to a potluck.

I had been invited to a hula hoop performance that night, but Stacey was leaving the next day and she wanted to go out and meet some of Marco's friends so I decided that this was priority. So we walked up the hill and tried to dry off a little before heading out to this potluck.

Our shoes and socks were still wet when we left. After getting some food from the grocery store nearby, we were offered new socks to wear while our other socks were put in the dryer! It was so nice!

Once my feet were dry I was fine. There were people at the potluck that I'd met at the house party! There was a hockey game on. We had brought beer as well. It turned into a mini house party after the game was done... only with lots of yummy food.

The camera came out for this one:

It was a fun night!

Stacey left the next day before I was awake. I was going to go to a Thai Massage Open House which would include a free Thai massage, but if I was to make it in time I would have to hurry!

I got there five minutes after the Thai massages were supposed to be given, but it was fine. The place was packed full, so I found somewhere to sit, listened to people talk, and got a ten minute treatment! It was needed. After that we learned a couple techniques and tried it on a partener. I tried/recieved with a person fresh off the boat from France... who happened to be a massage therapist as well. So we both benefited!

I walked out feeling like a million bucks. To make the day even better, I had talked to a woman named April. She knows Josef, and had invited me to one of her Reiki Classes. At the last minute she told me she would not be able to teach her class this week, but a student of hers was teaching instead at 4pm ish. I got out of the Thai place at 430, walked down to where the Reiki class was (it was pay by donation to keep the building running), met the two people there...

... and proceeded to have a period of meditation. I was already in the healing zone from the open house, so this was really beneficial. We then did some self-healing. The two students then decided to give me a treatment. So I had my first head to toe Reiki Session.

I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing!

If I walked out of the Thai massage place feeling like a million bucks, now I suppose I was two million. I had some tea when I got home feeling really... healthy again. I could think a lot clearer. It also felt like I was reminded of that whole other healer part of me that I had not been paying much attention to while traveling and partying. It was nice.

I decided to have an inside night. I made some alfaghetti. Marco surprised me by putting Dr. Mario on my computer, so I played a bit of that. Rosetta Stone finished downloading so I used that. I watched an episode of planet earth I think, then I know I watched an episode of Deadwood right before falling asleep.

I listened to some music while on the computer as well, and I heard a song that Kendra used to sing so I texted her. I really felt a pang of missing my friends in Vancouver that night. Maybe because I was feeling more open, and I wanted close friends to be open with?

either way, the Nyquil knocked me out mid-deadwood.
