I SAW A REAL FOX! And Other Stuff Too

okay! So I am in Galway... I'll try to get this moving - it's getting REALLY hard to keep up!

Soooooo on the tenth, we (being Dan, Ola and I) decided to go check out Sandyford! We went out to a bar in the sunshine, met up with John, sat on a patio, and talked to a local guy that over heard our not-overly-proper conversation haha. I hadn't really eaten much, so after a couple beer I was already pretty tipsy! Eventually food was required, so Ola and I eventually went down to the city to find some food. He was going to order food at Temple Bar, but I knew it would be too expensive! I bought a chicken roll from Centra and snuck it into the bar and ate it mwahaha.

We ended up sitting at the same outdoor table that we were at the day before, but this time I was much more conversational and awake! I met a bunch of people sitting at that table! Dan and John made it down, and we ended up there until much later than expected... whooops.... After that I was definitely not sober, and ended up at the mezz. This was also fun! It was Sunday though, so we ended up having our party cut short by one am. This was not really satisfactory, so Ola, other people, and I all started walking back to the house while Dan and some more people went to go get beer. We got in a taxi, and as we got out something very special happened.

Something so special happened, I now get to tick it off my mental list of things I have to see before I die: I saw a fox.

Ola actually saw it first and pointed it out to me. I had heard there were lots of foxes in Ireland, which was very exciting to hear, but I was not expecting to see one in Donnybrook!

As I mentioned, I was not what one might call sober, so this already emotional event for me was magnified emotionally and I nearly started to cry with happiness and just... excitement I guess.

To fill people in who do not know me from back home, I have an almost unhealthy love of foxes. They are my favourite animal... and it's the only other sure thing I want tattooed on myself with the word Pantalaimon under/beside/near the fox (in reference to my favourite book since 11ish, The Golden Compass). This tattoo basically means that I see the fox as what my soul would be in a physical animal form.

Er, that's getting off topic though... I always wanted to see one in real life and there it was sitting by a trash can. I saw the little white tip of it's tail as it trotted off and I squeaked. I went inside in a dazed and delirious fashion.

The partying continued for a while: I made eggs on toast and gave in to sleep around 4 something, but I know it went on unil past 830am the next day! Hardcore party; I came out of my room at eleven or so and the table was covered in beer cans, tobacco, and ashes.

I lay in the sun on the deck, showered, then sat down to use my computer. One of the partiers came into the living room, the first awake person so far! He woke up in a bed he didn't remember entering, with the Italian roommate complaining that he snored. To make things more confusing for the guy, he had something crusty all over one ear and the surrounding area. I could not explain the bed thing, but the crusty I could.

Dan had come into the room at some point in the morning and asked to use my krazy glue. He wanted to glue a sweater for wine bottles onto the passed out guy's ear. I remember him coming in again to return it saying it was an epic fail. Then he offered me juice and brought me a giant apple juice with a curly straw. This was very nice because I think the juice and the eggs prevented my hangover - I had woken up fine!

With the help of the camera we were able to figure out the bed thing. We found a picture of him passed out in a chair at 630 or so, which explained the lack of memory. we found out later that he did get into Roberto's bed while Roberto was in fact already in it. Roberto then slept on the floor or something lol. Good times

Well Mike and I ended up talking for a while, and decided to go for some brunch. We wandered into town on a bright sunny day again! He waited while I mailed some stuff home :) It was very pleasant - although he is as indecisive as me so it was interesting picking out a place to eat hehe. We ate, I was even able to have a beer right away so that's testament to how good my stomach was feeling!

Since I was feeling healthy, we went for a couple more pints at a pub, before walking back to the house. I had made arrangements to go to County Wicklow to go camping with a couchsurfer while I was laying on the deck, but this meant that everything had to be packed up and ready to go because I was leaving Dublin the next day!

The evening then mostly consisted of preparing things for the next few days including finding out about bus tickets, where I was going after camping since I would have no internet, where the bus stops are, how I am getting everywhere, etc etc etc.

I thought it best to get a good night's sleep cause it was time to see the rest of Ireland!
