YAY Ring of Kerry!
I woke up early and made lunch for myself. I got out the door just in time for when the bus was supposed to arrive... I had a feeling it wouldn't be exactly on time...
It wasn't, but we got on just the same. There were a few other people from the hostel going on this tour, so that was cool. I was tired though and not crazy talkative for the beginning of the trip.
One of our first stops was at a place Called the Red Fox Inn! How cool is that! I took a photo, then many more. There's no point giving the play by play, so here are the photos and I will give a synopsis after.
it was too cold to stay out of the bus for long
then it got a little warmer
I was very happy to be wearing that trusty wind resistant coat!
Where Charlie Chaplin lived after the US!
where he drank
a statue of him
BABY ANIMALS
someone held it
then I had to as well!
Yep! Very scenic! My favourite parts were the baby animals and when we were back in the park (the last few big scenes were the park) - there is something magic about that park man!
Something to note:
take a lunch - this is such a popular tour there are always TONS of coaches going along the Ring. No matter where they stop for food, it probably will be expensive. For example, they wanted 5.50 euro for a coffee with whiskey in it (Irish coffee)! Yeah right! That's crazy!
I met some nice Kiwis, Aussies, and Americans on the tour. I returned to the hostel with a mission though: find a place to stay in Galway for the next night.
I only had that night booked at the hostel, but I had no couch for the night after! This was going to be some last minute searches! To add to the pressure, the Volvo Ocean Races were in Galway, so a lot of the hostels were full or only had expensive rooms left. That meant if I didn't find a couch that night or the next day after checking out, I was going to be potentially paying wayyyy too much money for a suite or something. I made dinner and sat my ass down for a marathon.
Against all odds, Chee saved me! I was so happy! He sent me a text confirming that I could stay, and that totally made my night! Wahoo! Now I could go to bed knowing I had somewhere to go the next day :) I went to bed in order to check out on time :)
