okay, I am about to leave Kilkenny right now, so I have a bit of time before I have to be on the bus...
I left off on Tuesday, so Wednesday everyone slept till noon. Dan, Ola, Rich, and I all took the DART out for a day trip to Bray! It was beautiful there - sunny day right on the beach :)
I took photos and video but I have to get that organized after as usual...
took this by accident but I rather like it
We stopped for a pint first of course... Then we walked along the path beside the water... went into the forest... I climbed a tree, which I hadn't done for a while. there was a spectacular view from this place so when the pictures come up you should look, or at least look on my Flickr. [Edit: the pics are up, just missing video]
Rich wanted to go in the Irish sea since it was his last day to do it, so he took off to Sandyford. The rest of us came down the hill and had dinner on the patio. There was a hockey game on in the evening that was going to be shown in an Aussie bar north of the river, so we had to get back by a certain time.
We were late, but only missed the first period and no one had scored. It was a world cup type game - USA vs. Finland. Dan is from USA, and Ola from Finland, so it was heated haha. I was fine cheering for whoever, although I was curious how Canada was doing... (turns out we came in second to Russia - not bad!) There was also a soccer/football game going on that people were cheering for - Barcelona vs. Chelsea.
Once both games ended though, the bar went from packed to emptyish. It was losing it's appeal, so we walked down to Shebeen Chic where there was going to be music :) A lot of people from the old house were there :) We drank away, I ended up being very drunk and encouraged/forced to dance Salsa with a very cute bartender. I could not dance at all at that point (I was leaning on things type drunk) but it was still fun!
Well since we were all drunk at that point, we ended up at the Mezz. Here there were some pictures taken I didn't remember until the next day lol.
I remember it being a good time though! We went to some gyro/falafel type place afterward at whatever-time in-the-morning... The food saved me as always!
I woke up okay! I was amazed but happy :) I decided that since I was almost done figuring out where to go after Dublin, I should really make sure I've gone to everything within the city.
I walked down to a new park, and found the National Gallery. I saw some old irish art, mostly landscapes, plus some other paintings. I wanted to print out an Indian Visa form at Trnity but the library was only for students.
I then found the tourist office which was also on my list. I had researched and picked out a "Mary Gibbons Tour" to Newgrange, so I was going to buy a ticket for that asap. Turns out they had availability the very next day! That was perfect :) I also got a couple little presents hehehe. They are on their way.
I left feeling pretty productive!
I even found an internet cafe on the way back so I printed up the form and headed back to the house.
New couchsurfers were arriving today! One was from Argentina and one from Mexico :) They taught Spanish over in France, so they were using their time off to go traveling! We made some food and hung out at the house - they were very nice :)
I tried to go to bed early since the next morning was tour day!
