I woke up still kind of tired. My body was definitely recovering, and it was supposed to be "hitchhike to Lithuania" day. I had no sleeping bag or tent still, no idea where I was going to go after, I was on antibiotics, and I was not in the mood to hitchhike another 1000km after my last/first experience.
I had come up all this way and now the idea of actually hitching to Lithuania so soon was just too much. I bailed. Floh found someone to hitch with from the other camp, so he left that afternoon and I moped around. I was going to get my haircut but my bladder was not lasting quite long enough, and I was feeling kind of dizzy. I went to lay down all sad about being lame and ended up falling asleep until 8pm!
It felt weird to be waking up at this time, so I went on the computer. Someone messaged me about going up to the camp the next morning. He had space, but would only go if someone else went too so he could afford the petrol. It was perfect! A for sure way up, and he had a spare sleeping bag, and there was a communal tent at the campsite. All of a sudden things were not so bad! It was going to be an early morning though, so I had to go back to sleep somehow.
It was tricky, but I did it. I woke up early the next morning and met Thomas. He told me his car might not make it there, but once we were out of the city stop and start nonsense the car was working just fine.
The drive out was beyond my expectations. Northern Polish countryside was so much more beautiful than I could have expected! Rolling hills, lakes, villages, tiny winding roads; serious perfect road-trip material. We were in no rush at all to get there - we stopped at villages, picked up hitchhikers, had dinner, snacks, etc.
I fell asleep a few hours after it got dark, and woke up in the village beside the campsite. Apparently it was supposed to be only 5km outside of this place. It was dark, and there were supposed to be yellow signs, but we did not see any. We drove.
We drove and drove and drove and drove.
This went on for almost two hours.
We were at our wit's end! Eventually we spent the money and went online via Thomas' Ipod thingy and looked up the directions. Even that didn't work. Then we called someone there and they gave us directions and that worked.
We rolled in 5am Germany time, 6am Lithuania time. Wow. I slept in the car.
