I wasn't feeling like taking a tram all the way into the city, so I decided to go explore the surrounding area instead. I found some pastry on the way, and hunted down the local post office too (this took some time). I mailed some postcards, and walked some more!
I saw a few places to stop for tea or snacks. There were vendors selling things in a mini bazaar, underground tunnels with stores, cats (I pet a couple). Eventually I started to crave a tea in a corner where I could hide and write. I had been listening to music and thinking a lot, so I was wanting to regurgitate my thoughts onto paper.
I found somewhere a little pricey for Bulgaria but with really nice decor (Christmas decor!). They had a Rooibos with cloves and spices, so I absorbed that and wrote for a while in peace. I had the keys so I had to be back in time to let Tsvetan in, so eventually I had to make my way back to the house. Tsvetan had found a host for me in Plovdiv for Saturday, so we decided to go the following morning, and go out to another CS meeting tonight instead :)
This one was at a normal bar, packed full of people. It was Friday night after all. We had a section of the bar commandeered in the back - quite a few of the people from last time were at this one too so I recognized where we were right away! I talked to the people from Sarajevo more this time, and even was invited to another town in Bulgaria for the following weekend :)
I had a couple beers, but nothing too crazy since we had to get up for Plovdiv the next morning... It was a good night out though - caught a cab ride back feeling satisfied.
