I was supposed to meet up with a couple people I'd met in Sofia on this day, but it didn't work out. Turns out they took off early for Romania, so I had the morning to myself. I slept in and went on the computer for a while, talked on Skype etc. It was not the best weather out, so I was not feeling too bad about being inside. Eventually I had to get some food though, so I went for a walk! There was a nice looking cafe nearby, and I was hoping they would have some food served there too.
No food, so the hunt was on! I walked around the neighborhood remembering there was a doner place and a couple other stores looking cheap and filling within walking distance. I found some stands selling hot dog looking stuff so I got one and headed back to the coffee shop. I was able to relax more, but I had nothing to do there so I didn't stay too long. I've learned to ask how a store's Cappuccinos are made before ordering now since sometimes they give me Nescafe and that's just gross. I went hunting for oatmeal at the many supermarkets nearby, and had a nice walk around the neighborhood finding some. We made some chicken for dinner with traditional salad when I got back, before watching a different movie for the evening.
I woke up the next day willing to take advantage of the good weather while it lasted:
I ended up at the beach and the water was looking rough!
I walked down to this lighthouse:
I was at a coffee shop for a little while, and when I came out I got to explore all the Christmas decorations!
As you can see, the lights were really well done! It was really pleasant walking around a city decorated for Christmas! It made me excited to be going home :)
I stopped by the supermarket on the way back, then took the bus up to the house. We ate some more dinner and once again we ended the night watching a movie! I'd found a host for Saturday, so I was happy to get a good night's sleep before taking an overnight bus...
