I am super behind, but I have been sick so there is not as much to say about this week. My posts have been very very thorough I know, and I am not sure if I will be as extreme with today's.
I know it's probably boring reading so much useless detail, but I just don't want to forget stuff... I try to write out as much as possible so that when I look back I can say "wow look at all that. The time did not actually fly by, I just forgot what I had been doing!"
To continue the journey, my Thursday evening of last week ended with a visit to Flanagans with Levi, then watching LOST. Ran into Robin on the way over, chatted for a while, had a few more drinks :)
On Friday I took it easy during the day. I ordered a sandwich from a neat place, lost my pen trying on dresses, then went back and found it (that was super aweseome)...
Joey invited me to go out with his ambulance friends. Paul and I ended up both coming out to meet these EMT people, but when we got there it was not what we were expecting. It was mostly people just hanging out by some flashy cars. Sooo we took off to a place called Attiki's. We ordered drinks, talked to some people in this bar, more people show up, and somehow I am tipsy again. Okay maybe a little bit more than tipsy.
I remember us walking to a different bar called the Erin Rose (which is cool, isn't it sister Erin and mother Rose?) but on the way I decided I really wanted a traffic cone. It disappeared. There were plastic freezer-room flap things as doors, and it made me think of walking into a butcher place (too many horror movies lol)
I was definitely drunk by this point, cause I tried a corn dog for the first time. It was okay I guess. Like a hot dog on a stick but with corn stuff instead of bun. Well now I've tried it I guess.
Joey hugged me and I heard a weird noise: my earring broke from the hug! My new wooden one! WTF. I had to wear the one all broken so it looked like a claw in my ear. It didn't look bad, just uneven...
This night ended with me meeting more Canadians at Molly's (a bar) being happy about something. Oh yes this girl was actually from Vancouver so it was extra exciting!
Saturday I slept in until 4pm or something stupid like that. I think I went outdoors at about 5. Levi and I got coffee and food on Frenchman ran into Robin again!), then went to see if the tattoo shop could fix my earring for me.
They couldn't. Superglue works though. did that the next day (Sunday). I did not do much the rest of Saturday... mostly just watched LOST until I was caught up! Now I am back on track and super addicted once again :)
Sunday I was not able to mail things so once again I did not. I went to check out uptown and the Garden District via the St Charles Streetcar! It was beautiful :) I got some groceries and read on some grass before making my way back.
Minka and Joey were going to Flogging Molly! I wanted to get tickets. I walked down to the House of Blues on my way back(yes the REAL ORIGINAL House of Blues! Shazam!) and they told me to come back at seven-sih for possible last minute tickets.
I curled up on a bean bag chair and drank coffee and read... until I realized I might be too late! I hurried down, but when I got to the box office lady she said she had sold out a few people back. Urg.
I turn to leave, and there is Mike! I'd ran into Mike on my way back from my initial trip to House of Blues. He was on his way there, so I told him when to be there to get tickets... Fortunately for me he actually got there early/on time and managed to grab some. One was for me!
YAY! So awesome! A few of us went to Attiki's across the street for some food and drink (water for me my throat was sore)since the show was not starting at seven. Minka and Joey met us there.
The show was excellent! I had a really good time :) We all went back to Attiki's afterwards, but I was feeling like this sore throat I'd had was turning into something... more. Soooooooo I went to bed.

Leanne! Sounds like you're still kicking ass in NOLA. Tokyo Police Club played at the House of blues on the 10th - did you hear anything about the show (or know anyone that saw it)? Good pre-emptive strike against your protesting throat - I've STILL got a cough! Anyways, I wanted to share the link to my photoblog, which I recently revived. Keep the updates coming!
