Bike Races in Kuurn

The train station I was meeting them at turned out to be in the middle of nowhere.

It was entertaining getting off at this crappy stop covered in graffiti, thinking "ah google maps made it look like by far the closest stop to the airport... interesting". The plane they were on was delayed too so I ended up waiting an extra hour or more talking to this convenience store owner about Canada. It actually turned out okay, cause I was working on project #2 at this point so I was entertained by that and this guy.

Eventually they found this random tiny little part of Belgium and we were off towards Kuurn, a small town outside of Kortrijk, Belgium. Pete is a cyclist and was living in this small town to race. Unfortunately he had mono so he was not racing, but we were going to at least watch a race with his teammates in it.

We arrived and found said race! It was over! But hey there was another one on to watch anyways. So we went there and I watched my first cycle race.

It's similar to cars, but they are bicycles. This is what I learned from watching the race. It would be more entertaining if I had someone to cheer for, but I had Natalie and Pete there so it was fun!!

after this race, we settled our stuff in the house. Eventually we walked over to the local cafe to have a beer or three... Pete was helping behind the bar and Natalie and I were utilizing said bar! I was wearing a T shirt that showed some tattoo, and you can see people all staring at it hahaha

this turned into a fun drinking with older people night while Pete had to help at the bar mwahaha

Natalie and I kept taking turns with the camera, so I have more photos than usual!

It was fun though, I went to bed kinda spinny which was a slight concern since we were all to drive up to Amsterdam the next day!!
