Biking around the city turned out to be a really nice idea!
I biked past this palace, and on towards the city center.
When I found it (without a map too! Go me!) there were some sand sculptures on display... mostly of naked people I noticed. They were quite well done though!
It's a nice looking city... I grabbed a coffee and relaxed in the sun for a while.
I then went on a little exploring trip. I found the tourist office, a bike park, and lots of stores... I broke down and went shopping. I was realizing a couple things in my pack were not being used much at all, so I wanted to trade for more practicality. I got a tank top and a little button up black light sweater thing.
After the stores started closing, I decided it was time to head back. The house was not on my tourist map though, so I got so far and of course ended up lost.
I found some cool stuff while I was lost though!
I finally made it back to the house... Yumi was going to go do some work at his "office" in the city, and invited me to join and possibly help!
He has a late night printing thing going on, mostly for students who need things printed but have been cramming and such. Kinko's does not exist here, so it's cool that he was running this business! This night's work was printing CD covers for an apparently well known band in Amsterdam (I forget their name I will have to ask him) so I was knitting and bending paper, hanging out, listening to Michael Jackson really loud, drinking amazing coffee (made by his friend/business partner dude), and deciding what I was doing next.
I had been invited to a party in Luxembourg for the 25th that looked appealing. The girl, Nora, was someone I had met in Dublin hanging out at Temple Bar. She was selling bags and jewelery from Mexico beside Pepe and the band. I had put my earrings on her thingy and sold a bit too - we were there a lot so we had chatted it up on multiple occasions and she seemed really cool.
On the map Luxembourg is accessible either through Belgium or Germany from the NL. Soooo I thought hey why not give Pete a proper visit in Kuurn/Kortrijk (I was only there that one drunken night) then make my way over to Luxiland!
We chatted and decided to meet the next day in Antwerp, another place I really liked and had only spent one day + one night in... It was also halfway between the two of us so I looked up train times and figured out how to get there.
I ended up at the office till nighttime, which was not expected... but we were really hoping the rain would stop. Nether of us had rain gear at all, and I was in my vegetable pants which are quite thin (yes I went out in public with them haha!)
We had cycled down too so it was going to be a very very wet journey back. The first while I was cold, but once I was already saturated and my pants all clingy I was warmer. My light on my phone came in super handy, since some of it was through a forest.
I got home and put my clothes up to dry... I had been worrying at the office that they would be all wet the next day still and I would have wet clothes in my pack - heavyyyy. Luckily they were already drying in a clump in the washer (excellent spin cycle!) so I went to sleep more excited than worried :D
