Okay, so needless to say, I ended up choosing the Cliffs tour. Getting to wake up even earlier was definitely a part of the decision, and the less cost bit sealed the deal.
It left the same time as Connemara, so I knew when to be there. The girls had been nice enough to leave me with some food to take with me that we had bought, so I packed and headed downtown.
The man remembered me! He gave me an even bigger discount and attempted to flirt. I was nice since he had just given me almost ten euro off what I should have been paying, but not remotely interested.
There are a LOT OF PICTURES so I'm sorry if this doesn't load quickly...
started with a castle...
then moved to a cave. These are some remains of a now extinct European brown bear...
Okay, so I know I look pregnant in this photo... I have gained some weight and didn't even notice it until this picture. I was surprised and not very pleased about that. I have of course noticed the weight ever since!
The Dolmen
The Burren
aaaaannnddd finally, The Cliffs!!!!
It was amazzzzzing! I love heights. If you look at some of those pictures closely, you can see that there are little dots on the cliffs. THOSE ARE PEOPLE. It's hard to get a feel for just how steep they are without being there, but hopefully that gives you an idea. They were big, and incredibly peaceful. There were people having picnics there haha. I didn't really want to leave, but I had to catch the tour bus back.
When I arrived, the German girls had not arrived yet. They were due back on a ferry in a couple hours, and it was their last night here, so I met them at Zool's and we went downstairs to a bar for a beer. They had to get up super early the next day, so they had the one and then Zool drove them home. I was invited out to a pub by Gwilym, so I ended up walking down to that.
The pub was packed full even on a Tuesday! He introduced me to people, and I talked to even more. There was a woman from Illinois there that was incredibly happy about my proposed trip! It was awesome... I met a Spanish guy that was actually one of the sailors in the Volvo races. His hands were the harshest hands I've ever touched. The whole thing was a rough callous - it was actually really gross feeling. I mean he needs it for sailing but wow.
The three of us ended up going for greasy burgers that night. It was grand. I then went back to the house and we chilled out for a while. It was late though, so again I fell asleep. It was a good day!
