Last Days in Galway

okay I will try and make this quick...

On this day, I woke up at Gwilym's and walked home about noon-ish. It was such a beautiful day I decided I wanted to go to the beach. Chee was helping his friend move house, but said he might come out later. Niall was down though so I went to Zool's (where he was staying) we made food, and then we walked to the beach!

I never thought I would be on a sandy beach in 30 degree weather in IRELAND . It was so warm I went in the water, and dunked myself all the way up to my neck! It was so nice.

I was hula hooping and a girl approached me... and asked me if I was on couchsurfing! She recognized my tattoo and hula hoops from my profile, so we chatted for a bit until she went to join her friend from her English class (she was learning English here).

Niall and me stood and talked for a second after she left, then the two girls laying down in front of us a few feet away piped up and said

"actually we're on couchsurfing too".

Turns out one of these girls was originally from VANCOUVER! She now lived in Dublin, but that was so crazy! Niall was talking about joining the site now, and we sat and enjoyed the beach. Unfortunately he had to go to an art show, but Chee was now able to get down. I hula hooped for about ten minutes before he showed up, then we sat and chilled. It was starting to cool down a lot, so we didn't go back into the water.

Eventually it got colder and colder. We walked back and grabbed a beer at Spanish Arches (we are habitual creatures aren't we) and decided it was too cold to be outside in what we were wearing. After seeing kids go around selling random mugs for 50c out of a basket...

We walked home and I started looking for places to stay in Belfast.

The next day was a lazy day, I'd decided. All the sun from the day before had made me tired, plus I was still looking for a place to stay so I was determined to have a geek day.

I found someone who could potentially host me, and I also heard back from a hostel interested in hiring. Money is extremely welcome at this point (if anyone feels like sending me some, I would love you forever!) so that was very tempting.

Once I found shelter, next was transportation. It was easiest to bus to Dublin, then bus up to Belfast, so that was easy research. Zool lived very very close to the bus station, so I asked and he let me stay on his couch for that last night so I wouldn't have to walk into town early with my pack. He even came to pick me up! What a gentleman! When I was packing up people were practicing abdominal exams for their med school finals. That was fun to listen to :) Two girls from Chicago showed up too, so they were going to get the spare room all to themselves... everything was working out!

There were five of us staying in Zool's flat that night (Zool, his girlfriend, Niall, Blue, and me) so we watched some TV/movies and ordered pizza. I fell asleep on the couch, ready for Belfast! It was hard to leave Galway, but I was excited about going where my Grandma used to live.
